Guestbook

Well done Kate, a masterpiece of design and vision.  I have done nothing but eat, drink, sleep, read and walk.  It is so nice to hear a kettle that whistles when it boils and lambs bleating in the fields, and to feel fresh soil still clinging to the vegetables.  It’s what life should be ….. Good luck and have a wonderful summer.

You are a very clever how you made the ecocabin.  Thank you
Very much for everything you have done for us.  It is brilliant
To live in the country.  We will recycle more at home instead of
Throwing it all in the bin.  You are a very friendly person
Thank you very much.

Kate – The whole family loved our weekend at Ecocabin.  We wish you much success with the venture, it’s a great idea.  Not only did we enjoy the surrounding countryside but it’s opened our eyes to our own waste at home – reduce, reuse and recycle from now on!

Dear Kate,
I have really enjoyed
my stay at the eco cabin
it has been really fun
Thank you for all the things
you have done for us
it’s really nise to get
away from London
and be in this
peace full country
side
Thanks agen

Had a fab time, thanks very much Kate Martha and Gilbert.  All enjoyed winding up our radio and playing (instead of watching ‘Futurama’ all evening).  Composting book very illuminating …. Must recommend a visit to Stokesay Castle – with free audio tour – to future visitors, as it managed to enthrall visitors from age 6 to 42 with no problems.

We all loved it here!  It is so beautiful.  I love the way everything is so green!  I always knew it would be good, but not this good!  Thank you!

I think it’s nice, very very very good.  I like all of it.  I like the rocking chair and especially the bedlights that look like lightsabers from star wars.  Thanks.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.  The cabin is fantastic and the views stunning.  A huge thanks too for taking us to Walcot Hall.  It was fun to arrive in such style!

What a lovely cabin in beautiful surroundings and what a warm welcome.  Thanks for such a relaxing stay.  P.S .  The shop is a cracking idea.  For those who want to eat out, the food is very good at the White Horse at Clun and The Boars Head in Bishops Castle.

We had a wonderful time and it was so peaceful.  The view was amazing.  The lambs are sooo cute.  There were some lovely long quiet walks.  It was great.

Thank you Kate and Co.  We had a lovely stay at Ecocabin – the first of many I’m sure.  We haven’t done very much this time – just soaking it all in and enjoying the whole experience.  See you soon.  P.S.  The barbecue is fantastic – so easy to get going and brilliant results.

Thank you Kate for such a lovely experience.  I love all the ecofriendly things and hope there will be many more of these ecocabins.  (As a member of Greenpeace I am trying to get my family to be more ecofriendly.)  We wish you all the greatest sucess with the ecocabin and hope to come many more times.  Love to you all.
P.S.  It was so lovely and peaceful here
P.P.S.  The veiw was amazing and everything was so beautiful.

Many thanks, Kate and Martha.  (Unfortunately we did not meet Victor or Gilbert!)
Home from home for us!  It is great to have a few days break and not have to take home all our recyclables and compostable waste.  The smell of all the wood in the cabin is wonderful.  Loved the ‘Buy local’ list before we arrived and the ecocabin ‘shop’ when we got here.  It is a very beautiful part of the planet, I am so pleased that you are doing positive things to keep it this way.  Hope to be back!!

This is a wonderful house which has been designed with great thoughtfulness.  The attention to detail is very high – e.g.  the laminated maps in the visitor pack and the excellent design and branding of the website and letterheads.  The location is wonderful and devoid of noise pollution – great to hear the noise of the crows’ wings as they come in to roost in the ash tree at dusk.
We loved the plethora of sparrows.  It is good to see that they are thriving in at least one part of the country – how about putting a nestbox on the end of the house?  We caught a brief glimpse of the tawny owl being harried by blackbirds in the evening.
Well done at having conceived and executed such a comprehensively well thought-through business venture.  A really refreshingly different place to stay.
P.S.  We saw your hornet – I think he (she?) is living in the eaves of the cabin.

We have had an utterly delightful time and would not have wished for anything better.  We dream of living in such a location and house and look forward to many visits here.  It’s great value and enormous feel good factor in having a lovely holiday without hurting the environment too much.  We have been blessed with glorious sunshine our entire stay and the pretty garden and surrounds were made all the lovelier.  It’s heartwarming to know that there are clever people like Kate who make this kind of thing a reality.  Thank you.
Yes a great time – and top of it all there is some great mountain biking a five minute ride away in Hopton Woods.

Thank you for a completely wonderful time in this beautiful part of the country that we love so much.  We have enjoyed the peace and quiet and wonderful views.  The positive ethos behind this project has made for a memorable time and will be such recommended.  Thank you.

It’s been great.  Especially the sausages!  Thanks.

I felt very comfortable here.  You’ve done a great job.  We had fun winding the radio, even.

After 3 months working in Algeria, a few days of English rain, green fields and sheep was just what I needed.  Loved the place and enjoyed the wind-up radio!  Cheers!

I liked the walks around here in the woods and I really liked everything.

Well, we came here with very high expectations (courtesy of The Times Travel section) and have not been disappointed: - Ecocabin has been (and hopefully will be again) a beautiful and peaceful home-from-home retreat of a holiday for us.  We were eager to learn more about being green and living sustainably and will go home totally committed.  In fact we are going from here to CAT (Centre for Alternative Technology) in Machynlleth for further inspiration!
We have enjoyed some lovely walks with breathtaking views and spotted buzzards (constantly from the cabin) red kite, heron, bullfinches, goldfinches, chaffinches, toad, hares and dragonflies.
Stokesay Castle was well worth a visit and wandering around Ludlow was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.  We didn’t venture out much more as it was too lovely here but we’ll be back to take advantage of the Seafood Extravaganza at the Jolly Frog (Fri and Sat eves for pre-bookings) before too long!
Ecocabin has been a real find, a rare tonic, and we leave well fed, well read and well rested, thank you!

Thank you so much for enabling us to enjoy this beautiful part of Shropshire in such a peaceful spot.  The previous guests said for them it was a home from home.  Well, Ecccabin co
